The Scottish Government’s emphasis on outcomes has been welcomed by the Finance Committee in its report on the draft budget 2014-15 published today. The Committee also concluded that there is some evidence of progress despite a challenging fiscal environment.

Following the announcement of the death of Nelson Mandela, Presiding Officer the Rt Hon Tricia Marwick MSP has written to the South African High Commissioner to offer sincere condolences on behalf of all MSPs.
With the agreement of the Honorary Consul for South Africa in Scotland, a book a condolence is available in the Main Hall of the Parliament for MSPs, staff and the public to sign.

The Scottish Parliament is to once again host an international culture summit, bringing together delegations from across the globe to examine and debate how culture can encourage international dialogue.
The Summit will take place at Holyrood on Sunday 10 August to Tuesday 12 August 2014.
